Me Too!

The Me Too movement is a social and political movement that aims to raise awareness about and combat sexual harassment and assault, particularly in the workplace. The movement began in 2006, when social activist Tarana Burke founded an organization called Just Be Inc. to support survivors of sexual violence, especially young women of color. In 2017, the hashtag #MeToo began trending on social media after actress Alyssa Milano encouraged survivors of sexual harassment and assault to use it to share their stories and demonstrate the widespread nature of the problem.

The Me Too movement has brought attention to the prevalence of sexual harassment and assault, and has encouraged survivors to speak out about their experiences. It has also led to increased awareness of the need to hold perpetrators accountable and to implement policies and practices that prevent sexual violence.

The Me Too movement is rooted in the belief that sexual harassment and assault are unacceptable and that survivors deserve support, justice, and dignity. The movement works to raise awareness about these issues, to provide support and resources to survivors, and to advocate for policies and initiatives that address sexual violence and promote gender equality.
